Hello beautiful people! I am Jasmine Monique S. Pineda, 21 years of age, residing in Quezon City. I only speak Filipino and English language as of the moment, but I dream of learning to speak another language which is Nihonggo that is the language of Japan because I have a dream of teaching there in the future.

          When I was still in Grade 6 under Elementary level, I used to join English journalism which served as my foundation for the love I have with the English language, my journalism journey continued until Grade 12 under Senior highschool which led me to know about concepts and things not just about the English language but more of about the topic that I am retiring about. By the way, I have been an editorial writer for 7 years and an editorial cartoonist for 1 year.

           

          That journey of being an editorial writer paved the way for me to meet “literature”. I believe that a part of the soul of writing is connected with reading because I was able to complete my pieces by writing and reading. I was able to learn more about what I am writing about with the help of other literary pieces which helped me gain deeper understanding about different concepts considering that as an editorial writer, my task is to write about my position on social issues most of the time.

 

           I’m glad to have a Literature subject for this term as this sparked the fire inside me with my interest in writing and reading, again. I believe that literature isn’t just for entertainment and pleasure purposes, more than that, it has the power to educate people and save the world for having a better understanding of what is happening around us.
